Globalisation is Neoliberalsim : The Political Ideology
The relationship between globalization and neoliberalism is a complex one and scholars have debated the nature of this relationship for many years. While some argue that globalization is inherently neoliberal, others believe that two concepts are seperate but related.
one of the most prominent scholar, to argue that globalization and neoliberalism is closely related is , David Harvey. Harvey argued that ''Neoliberalism is a key driver of globalization as it seeks to deregulate markets, and promote the free movement of capital across border. He argues that this process has led to the concentration of wealth and power in the hands of a few global corporations, which has contributed to increasing inequality and the erossion of democratic institution.''
while, Naomi Klein, argues that ''Globalization is driven by a neoliberal ideology that prioritizes corporate profit over the needs and interest of local communities. She highlights the ways in which MNCs, have exploited workers and natural resources in developing countries and argues that this process has been facilitated by the erosion of regulations and the weakening of labor and environment protections.''
However, some scholars argue that globalization can take many different forms and that if it is possible to imagine a more equitable and sustainable form of globalization that is not driven by neoliberal ideology. For instance, Josephstiglitz has argued that ''Globalization can be a force for good, if it is managed correctly and that government can play an important role in regulating markets and ensuring that the benefits of globalization are shared more evenly.''
